Lime based paint

Slaked lime based paint recommended for historical buildings, made with traditional raw materials and following antique processing methods. The product permits to obtain aesthetical and chromatic effects depending on hand-made application.

Fields of application

Recommended  for outdoor and indoor:

  • For historical and high esteem buildings restoration.
  • For decoration of walls and facades, made of mineral plasters.
  • For architectural restoration and recover, as it features aesthetical effects very close to traditional lime based paints.
On new wall surfaces

Remove dust, dirt and oil traces from surfaces. Let plasters cure for 28 days at least, before proceeding with Adda application.

On old wall surfaces or patched with old paint

Remove any paint, fungus and mold traces. Proceed to a deep cleaning of the surface, preferably with a pressure washer. The surface must be clean and totally dry. If necessary, seal cracks or smooth using Renovo mortars.


Apply two coats of the product conveniently diluted, with at least a 12 hours gap between them, using a sufficiently soft brush or roller to reduce application traces. It is possible to complete the cycle, applying through swab or natural sponge, the lime based veiling Scialbatura.


Do not add any binding agents, inerts or other materials to the product. Do not apply it in windy days or in rain forecast, do not apply on hot surfaces, under direct sunlight, use adequate protection devices (windbreakers, sunshieldings). Do not apply with temperatures lower than +10°C or higher than +35°C and humidity >75%. Protect the surfaces from rain for at least 48 hours. Apply on cured supports.

Because of natural raw materials, color variation may occur among production batches. To avoid color differences, large surfaces must be worked with product from the same batch. Avoid the application of the material on the same surface on different times and weather conditions, because this could cause color variations. It is recommended to fetch the material in one batch.

Protect eyes during application and in case of contact, wash with water. Refer to safety sheet for further details.
