Walkable waterproofing coating

One-component waterproofing coating resistant to foot traffic, based on elastomeric acrylic copolymers in water emulsion, UV resistant pigments, micronized inerts and quartz fine sands. Easy to apply, once dry it forms a film resistant to abrasion and aggressive atmospheric agents. Guarantees and excellent waterproofing and an opaque, even finish.

Fields of application

Used mainly for the realization of walkable protective coatings for rooftops and terraces on supports such as:

  • Cured cement screeds
  • Surfaces with absorbent tiles
  • Liquid waterproofing systems, as an alternative to tiling

Can be used also as waterproofing for cement and boundary walls.

Support preparation

Substrate must be perfectly dry and cured. Wait at least 28 days before application. Surfaces must be perfectly clean , dry, free from dust and incoherent parts; the support must be structurally stable, free from efflorescences and rising damp. Remove any failing, detaching  part. In the presence of oily substances, remove them meticulously. In the presence of microflora is necessary to remove it by mechanical action. It is recommended to brush vigorously and dust out the support in order to obtain a good adhesion. Coarse unevenness must be recovered with specific products. In the presences of cracks, it is recommended to take action by repairing using an elastomeric coating (see Chiragum or Chiragum Plus).

Apply the first coating 20-30% water diluted, let dry for 4-5 hours, then apply the second coating 10% maximum water diluted. Apply the product in crossed fashion.

Apply in non-rainy days for at least 24/48 hours, between +5°C and +25°C. It is recommended to dilute with clean water. Do not apply on surfaces affected by rising damp, wet surfaces, frosted surfaces, in the presence of superficial condensation. It is recommended to protect the coatings until completely dry.
