Malta Da Muratura Thermo

Allurement mortar with expanded glass

Premixed masonry mortar for the allurement of thermo-insulating masonries composed by hydraulic bonding agents, quality/granulometry selected mineral inerts and expanded glass.

Features excellent insulation skills and super-low thermal dispersion which guarantees the thermal standard parameters of masonries.

Information

Fields of application

Reduces thermal bridges that would form with common masonry mortars, ensuring a better continuity of thermal insulation.

Suitable for application  in ordinary or buffer main walls, to glue thermo-insulating blocks, cement blocks with insulating inerts, expanded clay blocks, etc.

Support preparation

Carefully clean the support on which the blocks are going to be glued and make it as much as rough and absorbent as possible, in order to avoid adhesion limitations due to impurities. The elements to be allured must be fee from dust and dirt, oils and greases.

Masonries must be clean and consistent, free from failing parts, dust, mold or efflorescences. Remove any residues from previous works and inconsistent allurement mortar that may prevent adhesion.

Wet the masonry or the elements that must be allured and wait the superficial water to evaporate.

Mixture Preparation

Pour in a container the right amount of water to mix a bag of the product, gradually add the powder and mix with a low-rounds stirrer or in a cement mixer until an even, clump-free mixture is achieved. Let rest for 5 minutes, then stir briefly before usage.

Application

Apply by trowel. Realize the allurement base with the masonry mortar, set the element to be allured by performing circular gestures to obtain the correct positioning. Excess mortar must be cut flush to the wall with a trowel.

Recommendations

Prepare the mixture with clean, not brackish water. Do not apply the product within an environment below +5°C or above +35°C, in high sunlight exposure hours, in risk of rain or windy days. Protect the plaster from rain, wind, sun or rapid exsiccation for 24-48 hours. In case of application during hot season make sure it has a constant exsiccation by using scaffoldings, windbreakers/sunshieldings. Do not add any other materials to the content of the bag. It is recommended to mix the entire content of one bag in one solution. Do not use as consolidating grout for “rubble” masonries.
