Mineral smoother, grain size 0,8mm – 1,2mm

Fiber-reinforced mineral smoother, based on natura hydraulic lime (NHL 3,5) EN 459-1 certified, natural pozzolana and carbonate-silicate selected inerts. Its particular composition guarantees absorption uniformity, excellent vapor permeability and resistance to soluble salts, making it perfect for restoration operations. Used as smoothing mortar in resanation of masonries made with plasters from Renovo line.

The product is available in two grain sizes:

  • 0,8mm
  • 1,2mm

Fields of application

Ideal for use in restoration and recovery operations of historical interest masonries, keeps transpiration features of pre-existent surfaces, allows to replicate from a physical, chemical and mineral point of view the properties of original mortars in historical and artistic interest buildings.

Applicable as smoothing (indoor and outdoor) on:

  • Old and new hydraulic lime based plasters
  • Macroporous, de-humidifing plasters
  • Lime/cement based plasters
Support preparation

Support must be solid, free from dust or any other material, greasy or oily substances. It is recommended to scar the plasters for optimal adhesion. Wet the support before application.

Mixture preparation

Pour in a container the right amount of water to mix Simeto bag, add gradually the powder and mix with a low rounds stirrer until obtaining an homogeneous slaked, free from clumps. Let rest the mixture for 5 minutes and mix again shortly before usage.

Apply the first coating with a steel spatula, making sure to not exceed a 2mm thickness. Wait for the first coating to dry before proceeding with the second coating. Wait for about 2/3 hours, then treat the surface with a wet sponge spatula performing circular gestures.

Prepare the mixture with clean, not brackish water. Do not apply the product within an environment below +5°C or above +35°C, in high sunlight exposure hours, in risk of rain or windy days. Protect the plaster from rain, wind, sun or rapid exsiccation for 24-48 hours. In case of application during hot season make sure it has a constant exsiccation by using scaffoldings, windbreakers/sunshieldings. Do not add any other materials to the content of the bag. It is recommended to mix the entire content of one bag in one solution. Significant temperature drops may compromise the final consistency of the product.
